CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT... This month, we're featuring Paul Corriveau, who makes whirlybird-gigs that fly when the wind blows. He's been building them for the past several years, and uses the aluminum he gets from Speedy to make the bottom spindle between bird and post. Want to see your work featured here? Send us an email at newsletter@speedymetals.com. You can also check out other great customer projects on our blog or on our Facebook page. |
WHAT YOU'RE SAYING... "I like that fact that I can buy smaller units of sheet metal from you which are easy to handle for the small projects. Packaging was great. I'm still using the packing to keep all my metal safe! All in all, I've had a great experience!"

DID YOU KNOW...? Did you know that lasers can be used to create colors on metal? Laser-decorated silver jewelry. Source: https://www.osapublishing.org/ome/abstract.cfm?uri=ome-9-3-1310#articleFigures There are a number of different ways lasers can be used to create colors on metal; however, each method has typically required a highly specialized laser with very specific settings. Now, researchers have figured out how to use a single, commercially available laser for three different techniques: laser oxidation, laser nanoparticle formation and laser structuring, making them "more practical for a wide range of applications in art and jewelry making, with the possibility of mass production." Laser-induced images obtained on the structured surface of the steel. Source: https://www.osapublishing.org/ome/abstract.cfm?uri=ome-9-3-1310#articleFigures Want to learn more?
