This week, we're featuring a project that Betty Jane Parrot of Milwaukee Metal Products Co. sent us a while back. It's a press that used a lot of tubes which we cut to size for them:

"This is a press that is ultimately 80" x 102" with a 3 layer sandwich of tubes welded into grids with an additional grid for the base. The forms fit between the top (which is fixed to the bottom grid) and the middle grid. There is a lift system that presses the middle grid against the form evenly. Getting components cut to size greatly simplified the layout and assembly. Since this was a new project, the ability to get “extra” parts that were changed or added quickly was important. We specialize in making custom weldments and assemblies for our customers with short lead times and Speedy Metals is an important part of that process."
